Deadline for preordering is Jan 13. After that notes are first come first serve.
Why do I have to pre-order my notes?
In the past, students could simply go into the IEEE office and pick up notes for a course.
The problem with this is that many students don't use buy course notes, either because they
don't need them or because they are availible online. In any case, we end up printing
more copies than we need. For example, in ECOR 1606, there are about 800 students registered.
Last semester we printed out 400 copies and we still have 100 left overs.
This is not only a waste of paper, it costs us money which we then have to make up in the
next semester, increasing prices.
To try to fix this we introduced an online pre-order system. When you order notes, you will be
emailed a copy of what you pre-ordered. You will have a chance to cancel your order for a few days
after it is placed. Only students who have pre-ordered notes, will be able to buy them for the first few weeks.
After that we may print more if there is enough demand, or sell any extras on a first come first serve basis.
