IEEE Connects! is a formal dinner event that aims to bridge the gap between students and the industry. Students and employers will have the opportunity to network with each other in a friendly environment along with professionals and academics representing the field of Engineering. Succesful professionals from the field of engineering will share their experiences to illustrate how a student can make the most effective transitions when embarking into a professional world.

From Backpack to Briefcase!

The theme for the night is “From Backpack to Briefcase” which symbolizes the most significant journey undertaken by a student. Three speakers from the engineering domain will be delineating us with their experiences and expertise during this event.

The 1st speaker is a recent graduate who will describe the transition process from an academic to a career lifestyle.
The 2nd speaker is an industry professional who will educate the attendees about the importance of networking and will talk about how to network in different event settings.
The 3rd and final speaker for the night is a successful and experienced individual from the high-tech industry who will talk about personal experiences of working their way up the corporate ladder.

Company Booths!

There will be an hour long networking session where Information Booths will be set up by about 20 leading Hi-Tech companies. This will provide a great opportunity for students to network with over 40 industry reresentatives and find out what skills are required to enter and excel in a fast paced corporate environment.

Dinner Buffet !

Last but not least .. a scrumptious dinner buffet will also be served to mark this occassion.
